Mostly about Jacques Jouet and Herve le Tellier

This is a pretty good book, but for a book that purports to be about Oulipo, it feels about one third devoted to Jacques Jouet, one third to Herve le Tellier, one sixth to Georges Perec, and the remainder to everything else Oulipo-related. Those are Oulipians to be sure, but to devote so much space to them, at the expense of so many others, seems not so hot. The parts about Jouet and Le Tellier are highly critical, though not having read them I couldn't offer any thoughts on whether the criticism is justified or not. The part on Perec is (naturally) quite positive and had some good insights, but comprised too few pages to really get into details, and there's barely anything about Harry Mathews (my personal favorite), or Calvino, or, I dunno, Roussel (to name a proto-Oulipian I was hoping would be discussed)? It's also a very short book. Excluding a few sundries at the end, it's exactly 100 pages long, and I don't know if they should be charging full price for such a short book. It also doesn't seem to go very far toward answering the question in its title. It's basically two essays, one on Perec and Jouet, and one on Le Tellier and feminism/misogyny in the Oulipo; both are enjoyable, and if the book had contained five more of similar length and perspicacity, it would be a whole-hearted recommendation, but with one two, the volume feels a bit slight.
