About the Author
Steve Rhodes was born in Austria where he spent his childhood and studied mechanical engineering-management before moving to London. While at university, he won a nationwide search for best music-newcomer and subsequently got signed to Columbia records as a singer & composer. Various TV, radio and other media appearances followed. Steve later built his own recording studio and established himself as a music producer. He also had his own film studio and produced music videos incorporating early 3D computer animation. In 2003, he was introduced to the Human Design System and began to study with the founder Ra Uru Hu. He then lived for a few years on the Mediterranean island of Ibiza where Ra lived. Until 2010, Steve owned one of the leading recording studios in London (Alpha Centauri Recording), which was used by U2, Kanye West, M.I.A., Depeche Mode and many others.

Not enough stars to give this book the credit it deserves.

This book is basically a filter system designed for long term trend trading. Its goal is to keep you riding a long term trend, avoid the whipsaws, and keep you from trading too much. Not a system for people who like to day trade. It does however have a section dedicated to timing entries and exits with 60 minute intraday charts; But, thats just an option, intraday is not necessary to make system work. You will need a computer w/software that allows you to customize the length of various indicators, and end of day chart service(if you don't plan on using the 60 min. intraday timing methods) going back at least two years. A subscription to some historical monthly charts are also very useful. Shows you the big picture w/monthly, weekly and daily analysis. Definately worth adding to your library.

Too Complex

In all honesty, I didn't try the system or even try to test it. The entry consists of a checklist of 24 chart-based technical indicators or conditions for both weekly and daily prices-- thus 48 items in all. These are explained, sometimes clearly and sometimes vaguely in 19 chapters. Altogether, it is one of the most complex systems ever published. Though it may or may not work, its "kitchen sink" approach makes it too complex to understand well, and if there is one requirement for a good trading system, it is that the trader should be able to comprehend what he is doing and why at all times. If it starts to fail, you will never know why. While each of the technical methods presented is sound, Alexander's use of all of them at once makes for a mess rather than a good system.

This book helped me in several aspects. 1. It helped keep me from over trading (my weakness) 2. It helped me to determine if a move counter to trend was likely to succeed or fail. 3. It has helped my profitability. Yes there are only a few major turns every year, but Alexander also discusses "how to enter a rapidly moving market." This adds to the number of trades one can do with this "system." Other reviews are correct, it is not for the day trader. I did have to read it three or four times and marked it up pretty good. I have three different software programs and found the things from the book could be programmed into Metastock Explorers and Advisors (my lower end software) with some, but not too much, effort.

Still a Dog

I thought Still a Dog would be more exciting, even through it had drama it was dull. How could one man get into so much trouble? Every decision he made was the wrong one. After reading half way through I thought to myself enough already wake up, I started to get bored. However I do like Mark Anthony's previous work and I would still buy his books.

Still a dog

Mark Anthony is one of my favorite urban authors. I'am so happy to see he finally decided to make the sequel to Dogism after 10 years. It was more glitz and glam than the first one since the character takes on a different profession than his regular blue collar gig. I was not disappointed with this one, kept my eyes glued to each page after page.

Clancy Martin is Professor of Philosophy at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. Very Interesting!

I bought this textbook for my Philosophy 101 class this summer. And I was glad I purchased it (my college's bookstore tends to overcharge). The book comes with readings that I found to be intriguing and made me think. Not only did I enjoy this book, but I have come to love it because of my professor. Philosophy is already a hard subject as it is; the book made learning about philosophy easier. It breaks things down and makes it so that an average person can understand.

Interesting, not dry

As its name implies, it is an introductory textbook and therefore doesn't go amazingly in-depth on any one single philosophical view. However, the book is broken up into several different areas of philosophy, and in these areas it tries to include different viewpoints and perspectives on the issues for the chapter.

The textbook is not dry at all, and the context it tries to provide for the included texts are very helpful to understanding the meaning and purpose behind the philosopher's ideas. If you have to purchase this textbook for a philosophy class, I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

First I want to say thank you amazon for delivering this book in excellent condition.
I have had time to read through it and let me say the book is great. If you just breaking the water on philosophy then this is book for you. It has really helped me get a better understanding of what I have to come in my philosophy class. I feel like I now have the tools needs to tackle this class head on. Thank you Solomon for this excellent read.
